Mitchell Conservatorium is inviting members of the community to a special online event next Wednesday taking inspiration from the popular SBS institution, RocKwiz.
The Zoom-based event, led by MitCon executive director Graham Sattler, publicity officer Lauren Hagney and a trusty band of musicians, will feature questions about the songs and artists covered at previous PUBlic Choir events, drawing on three years-worth of catch-ups at The George Hotel.
Dr Sattler, who will soon pass the baton as MitCon's executive director, said he strongly recommends participants brush up on previous PUBlic Choir events via YouTube.
"We feel this will be a fantastic way to reconnect with the PUBlic Choir community, as well as revisit some of our finer moments," he said.
"The questions will also include general rock trivia, and I dare say we'll finish with a karaoke sing-a-long to end the event on a high."
While he likely won't be there to celebrate PUBlic Choir's return once The George Hotel reopens post-lockdown [with a move to Christchurch, New Zealand beckoning], Dr Sattler hopes the initiative will continue to bring the community together.
"It's an initiative we're especially proud of at MitCon, and hopefully it will continue to thrive in the future," he said.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 29 from 7pm.
