Bathurst recorded one new case in the 24 hours to Wednesday, a person who was later confirmed to be a non-resident who had come to the city for work.
That followed four days in a row without a new COVID case for Bathurst - the best stretch for the city since the Delta outbreak began here.
Though it was reported Bathurst's latest case was believed to have been infectious in the community, the city didn't have a new case in the 24-hour period to 8pm on Thursday and Bathurst's active case total remains at 16 (with 39 recovered).
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole reported that there were 310 daily tests for Bathurst on Thursday, which was up on recent numbers.
The news was nowhere near as good at neighbouring Cowra, which had nine of the 32 new cases in the Western NSW Local Health District to 8pm on Thursday.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The rest of the 32 was made up of 10 in Bourke, 10 in Dubbo, two in Mudgee and one in Narromine.
Eight of the cases located in the Dubbo local government area were in Wellington, the health district said.
There were 11 deaths in the 24-hour reporting period, all of which were in Sydney apart from a man in his 50s who died at Broken Hill Base Hospital.
The NSW Government says the state is now up to 56.6 per cent double doses and 84.1 per cent first dose.
