Weatherzone says two masses of moisture are expected to interact over eastern Australia from Tuesday and the lion's share of the rain will fall on and west of the Great Dividing Range.
The rain will no doubt be welcomed, but it isn't imperative for the region's dams, which remain in great health.
Chifley Dam was at 101 per cent when Bathurst Regional Council last released a reading earlier this month, while Wyangala was 96.5pc, Burrendong, further down the Macquarie from Bathurst, was 101pc and Oberon Dam was 85pc as of Friday.
Bathurst has had 34.6mm for the month so far - down on the 47.2mm long-term average for September.
If they eventuate, the forecast days of wet weather this week will continue a mixed bag for Bathurst in September that has included 20 degree days and a prediction of snow in the district.
