Once Bathurst pubs and clubs are allowed to reopen, which will likely be on October 11 with the rest of NSW, freedoms will only apply to fully vaccinated residents, including dining in at venues.

While acknowledging the decision to get vaccinated as "a deeply personal one", Bathurst RSL Club general manager Peter Sargent said the venue's staff "will observe whatever regulations are put in place by the state government."

"It [checking vaccination status of visitors] will be a post-lockdown requirement for all venues, so we'll abide by anything that ensures we're able to open the doors in a couple of weeks," Mr Sargent said.

"The state government has made this part of their policy in their roadmap out of lockdown, and the overwhelming feedback from our members is that they expect people to follow suit to feel comfortable."

1880 Hotel co-owner Nicci Muller said the venue will too strictly abide by the new vaccination policy, but has asked visitors to respect staff members who will only be doing what's required to remain open.

"I hope people take a step back and understand it's not the staff and owners of any hospitality venue in town who have made these rules," Ms Muller said.

"We didn't determine these rules, these are the public health orders the state government has mandated, and we have no choice but to follow them."

Along with the vaccination laws, hospitality venues will be able to reopen from the projected October 11 date under the four square metre rule indoors [as was the case immediately prior to lockdown] and two square metre rule outdoors, with drinking standing up allowed outside.

Ms Muller said the 1880 Hotel, which launched only days prior to lockdown, is looking forward to welcoming sit-in patrons back.

"We're desperate to reopen and welcome people back to the pub, and I'm sure we speak for all venues in town in saying this," she said.

"I think the vast majority of people will be happy to abide by the rules, and as far as I can tell, the reason so many people are stepping up for vaccinations is that they want to see their family and friends again."
