In the 24 hours to 8pm Monday, Bathurst record one new case of COVID-19, bringing to end another streak of four straight days without a case.
While not directly confirming Bathurst would likely leave lockdown with the rest of NSW on October 11, WNSWLHD chief executive officer Scott McLachlan reiterated the process to determine the lockdown status of individual local government areas [LGA's], which included a 14-day window where there hasn't been an infectious case in the community.
"There's a expert panel working daily to weigh up the risk of new infectious cases in the community based on a number of factors," Mr McLachlan said.
"These factors include sewage surveillance, number of COVID tests undertaken and other relevant community risk factors [population, age groups etc.], and with a new case in Bathurst, it [the lockdown status] will definitely be assessed as quickly as possible."
"But bear in mind, we know the new Bathurst case was infectious in the community, and we also know the new case in Oberon was also in Bathurst within the last 24 hours."
A new venue of concern was listed for Bathurst on Monday: anyone who was at Flirt Adult Store between noon and 4pm on Wednesday, September 22 is considered a casual contact and must get tested and self-isolate until a negative result.
