While the season didn't end with another premiership for Bellamy it did include a 19-game winning streak and a seventh straight top four finish.
After accepting his award on Monday night from the long time captain under his coaching, Cameron Smith, Bellmany was quick to thank all those involved in the NRL for the sacrifices they made over a COVID-19 affected season.
"I'd like to thank a lot of people, but certainly the NRL for all their hard work in keeping the competition going. It hasn't been easy for any of us," he said.
"I'd like to thank all the other teams for keeping the competition going and all of their families. I know how hard our families have done over this time and it would have been the same for everyone else."
I know it was a disappointing finish but what you guys did this year was incredible.

Storm finished the year with 21 wins from their 24 games but had their stunning minor premiership season ended on Saturday night in a 10-6 defeat to the Penrith Panthers.
"It was a really enjoyable year, up until last week. You guys have done amazing after living out of a suitcase over the last two years," Bellamy said.
"Sometimes we had our families with us and sometimes we didn't. It was a bit of a rollercoaster but I really enjoyed what you guys provided for us but even moreso than that, the footy that you played.
"I know our members in Melbourne have had it tough not being able to see any live games but I know you had them glued to the TV every weekend.
"I know it was a disappointing finish but what you guys did this year was incredible."
