Bathurst Regional Council received a request from the developers of land at Kelso to name the roads, currently under construction, Bradbury Drive and Holman Drive.
The first road is proposed to be named after Private John Bradbury, who enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force in Bathurst on July 14, 1916.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Private Bradbury listed his trade or calling as shunter, and it is speculated that he worked in Bathurst on the railway.
Holman Drive is proposed to be named after Captain Jack Hilton Holman.
He enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force on September 28, 1914, and cited his trade as a turner apprentice at Clyde Engineering.
Neither name is considered to bear "any negative, derogatory or offensive connotations", and council will have them gazetted if there are no objections.
