Wineries based in regions considered to be a 'cool climate' will have until October 29 to register their products for the Bathurst show.

National Cool Climate Wine Show committee member Felicity Baines said they are glad the show is going ahead after all of the events over the past few years.

"Before we had COVID they had the drought, before the drought they had the bushfires, then they had floods," she said.

"They've had a couple of years where they've still been making wine but they haven't been able to benchmark their wines.

"So that's why we felt it was so important this year to make sure the show goes on."

The wine show allows participating wineries to benchmark their vintage against others in the market with the best wines receiving a gold, silver or bronze award.

This year there will be a new chief judge, Russell Cody, who has been involved with a show for a number of years as a panel chair.

Traditionally there are two parts to the show, the judging and the public tasting.

This year the committee has made the decision not to run the public tasting due to the uncertainty of COVID regulations.

Judging will take place from December 7 to 10.
