"It's been really tough for everyone in 2020 and '21, but the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived and all the players are ready to do what they do best and that is play the best game of all, tennis.'' club president Jason Honeyman said.
What will we see from the players when they return to the courts?
Will we see the Iron Lady Schumacher and Slugger Bullock lock horns and go into battle for a grand final berth?
Maybe the Tree family (Matt, Kevin, Sarah and Andrew) will turn up the heat and make it an all family affair, or on the other hand have the 'Rock' Bryan Reiri tear you apart with his blistering forehand and skilful groundstrokes?
Maybe we will see the Rocket Rod Schumacher launch to great heights, or maybe Jason Molkentin can pull that magic rabbit out of his hat and play his consistent flawless tennis.
We might even see Harry Dang have his opponents in panic mode and have them sinking like the titanic. Our young guns, Bailey, Sebastian and Maddie Honeyman, could also turn up the heat.
Will slice king Barry Lindsay carve his way through his opponents to have them wishing they never stepped onto the court? Could Andrew Howarth, Stacey Markwick, Judy Smith, Kath Wilkinson and Toko Tari frustrate their opponents with their brilliant style of consistent tennis?
And will our master chef Graeme Stapleton serve up a new dish of exquisite food or will he keep us in suspense.
In concluding, I would like to send out on behalf of all the players our deepest condolences to Garth and Natasha Hindmarch and his family on the tragic loss of their daughter Paige.
Paige's funeral will be held at St. Michael and John's Cathedral on Wednesday October 27 at 2pm.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions those that attend Paige's funeral will have to be double vaccinated and are to contact our Jason Honeyman if they wish to attend.
This is required as there is limited restrictions on the numbers of people allowed in the church.
