It is then that we will have a clear view of the choices available to elect councillors to lead Bathurst for the next three years.
There is much at stake this election as decisions need to be made on a number of major issues affecting Bathurst's future direction. Issues including water security, river crossings, traffic flow, repurposing our heritage buildings and major development proposals are all topics that each candidate with have a view on.
Bathurst's reputation is also at stake.
Our city needs to be seen as progressive, modern thinking, embracing innovation and supporting opportunities and services for its citizens.
Bathurst needs people with the ability to attract, promote and progress major projects to ensure the prosperity of the city. It's evident there will be a long list of candidates.
Let's hope voters consider the experience, skills and abilities of the candidates before voting.
