Bathurst Accommodation - Designer Events rents out houses to the teams, sponsors and corporates each year and are in need of more listings.
"We're actually desperate for accommodation because obviously a lot of people didn't book it as normal," Bathurst Accommodation part-owner Debbie Campbell said.
"Normally they book it straight away but because of the uncertainty and now with putting the two races together and the extension of the dates we are very short in accommodation for corporates."
Traditionally Race Week is held in early October but the date has been pushed back twice this year due to COVID-19. It will now run as a six-day festival from November 30 to December 5.
As the new dates coincide with Year 12 graduations and exams some locals who would normally have rented out their house through Bathurst Accommodation have pulled out.
Ms Campbell said with the race being so close if anyone wants to rent out their house to get in contact now because people are trying to book.
"Basically they like any size property, from one bedroom to six bedrooms," Ms Campbell said.
"Some of them, depending on who they are, there's a range of requirements ... It's not hard to do ... It's just presenting the house as best you can in a corporate fashion.
"I've even rented houses 10 to 15 minutes out of town, that's not normal but that's how desperate we are at the moment."
With COVID hitting businesses hard over the last 18 months Ms Campbell is hoping things run smoothly leading up to Race Week.
She also assures locals that the teams are being tested all of the time and have very strict rules about where they can go.
"They can't afford for anybody to catch [COVID] because if somebody in that close organisation does it shuts the race down and they can't afford that to happen," Ms Campbell said.
"I just think the town needs a boost, businesses have done it pretty tough so we really need to get behind things like this to put some money into the economy here locally."
