Dorman said she was excited when she first found out she was in the team and she's hoping to learn a lot from her opportunity.
"It'll be a good chance to refine my golf skills and learn more skills off other coaches and players," she said.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know new people and play more golf and learn new skills."
The Year 6 Cathedral School student already has a handy resume, having finished as runner-up at the Wagga Wagga Jack Newton Junior Golf Girls 11 and Under and winning the Bathurst Jack Newton Junior Golf Girls 11 and Under in March.
Dorman explained that she's been playing golf for five years now, ever since she picked up the sport at the local driving range.
"I started hitting around five years ago," she said.
"I was going down to the range, where Dad was taking my brother to the group lessons on a Saturday morning. Then, after a while, I joined with the group lessons."
Currently on a handicap of 13, Dorman is hoping to bring that down in the next year.
"In the next 12 months, my goals are to get my handicap to be under 10," she said.
"In the next five years, my goals are to have my handicap under two and I will have played in tournaments all over the country."
Josh Dorman, Maiv's father, said some of the leading female golfers at the club have been great in helping her improve in recent times.
