Qureshi, who has represented the Central West for a number of years now, is likely to lead the team once again if selected in the team later this year.

The draw for the Regional Bash was announced earlier this week, with Central West scheduled to face local rivals Western Plains Outlaws at Orange's Wade Park on Saturday, December 11, before heading to the Wollongong area to face Illawarra Flames and South Coast Crew in a double-header on Sunday, December 12.

Central West, who has been drawn in Thunder Pool 1, would advance to the finals at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) if it won its group and Qureshi believes that is one of the greatest rewards as a cricketer.

"The winners being able to play at the SCG is a real privilege," the Rugby Union talent said.

"For me, it's the premier cricket ground in the world. I think the best players in the world have called the SCG home.

"I'm probably a bit bias being a New South Welshman, but I think it's a great reward for the regional areas."

While playing at the famous Sydney ground is a target for Qureshi, he's also looking forward to playing with some of the best talent across Orange and Bathurst.

"I always look forward to playing," he said.

"There's some good young guys there. It's a real privilege to play in that side and it's a good thing to a part of."

What Qureshi is interested in is a rule change, which allows representative teams to pick players based on their origin, not just where they play their club cricket.

"We can pick players based on their origin and there's an unlimited cap on that," he said.

"You can essentially have guys that were originally from the area come back and play and be a part of the team as well.

"Say for example, we have guys playing down in Sydney and Canberra, so they'd be allowed to come back and play in this. That'll be interestingly."
