The white-throated needletail is just one of the many species of bird that guide Tiffany Mason will be looking out for as she leads a group of locals through the Albens Reserve.
The walk is part of the annual Aussie Backyard Bird Count and all birds seen will be documented.
"The Albens Reserve, where we'll be heading on Sunday, is a really lovely little remnant on the side of Wahluu Mount Panorama and a great example of white box grassy woodland," Ms Mason said.
"We cater for all ages and all ranges of experience, we hope to give everyone a lovely morning and see a number of species and as we walk around we'll be recording what we've seen so that will go into the bird count app."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Ms Mason has guided professionally across most of Australia over the last 15 years and said she sees something different every time.
It was through her association with the Boundary Road Reserve Land Care Group that she began leading the bird walk in Bathurst around five years ago.
There's large range of birds that people will be able to see on the walk including; wood swallows, pardalotes, the eastern yellow robin, sparrowhawks and some species that are just arriving as the warmer weather sets in.
"You see something different every time you go out," Ms Mason said.
"We may also see some of our summer visitors that are just arriving in town like the rainbow bee-eater.
"The rainbow bee eater's a really spectacular bird, very colourful, lots of different colours."
The walk will begin at 8am on Sunday and go for around two hours with the 20 available spots booked up.
However, Ms Mason is hoping to add an autumn walk to the calendar in the future.
She is looking forward to getting outdoors with the weather predicted to be beautiful and is hoping everyone has a great time.
"Be prepared to keep your ears open, your eyes open and enjoy being out in the open," Ms Mason said.
