Five new cases for Bathurst were included in Sunday's figures, bringing the total known active COVID-19 cases in the region to 21.
Those five cases were among 10 new infections across the Western NSW Local Health District, including three in Walgett and one each in Dubbo and Wagga.
New reporting protocols as a result of easing COVID restrictions across the state and high vaccination rates mean health authorities will no longer reveal how many of the new daily cases were known to be active in the community while infectious with residents instead advised to "continue to act as if active COVID-19 cases may be present in your community by following safety measures and responding to alerts".

"For people aged 16 and over the Bathurst Regional LGA's first-dose vaccination rate is 91.8 per cent, which ranks 18th out of the 22 LGAs in WNSWLHD. The second-dose rate of 82.5 per cent ranks 15th of 22," he said.
