Having had limited opportunities with the ball last season with the Sydney Sixers - bowling just three overs across the tournament - Griffith made the decision to move west for her fifth season in the Twenty20 competition.
After sitting out the Scorchers' first two matches - which resulted in a super over win over Brisbane Heat then loss to the same rival - Griffith came into the side on Sunday in Launceston in place of Samantha Betts.
She was presented her cap by team-mate and fellow all-rounder Heather Graham.
"She's been an absolute trooper and a real stalwart of domestic cricket in Australia," Scorchers skipper Sophie Devine said when revealing Griffith would make her debut in orange.
Thunder was the side which gave Griffith her first taste of WBBL, the Bathurst all-rounder having taken 11 wickets in her 29 appearances for them.
Her best effort for Thunder came against the Scorchers in 2018 when she took 2-17 off three overs against them - a performance which stood as the best of her WBBL.
But on Sunday as a Scorcher, Griffith equalled those figures with 2-17 off three overs.
Before that Griffith got to witness a Devine masterclass, the Kiwi superstar blasting 101 off 60 deliveries after being sent in to bat.
Her efforts helped Scorchers to an imposing total of 2-186, meaning Thunder needed to score at a run rate of 9.35 an over if they were to be successful in the chase.
Griffith was introduced into the attack in the third over and while first first ball was dispatched to the boundary by Indian star Smriti Mandhana, her reply was immediate.
Seeing Mandhana advance down the wicket, Griffith dropped it short and the opener was caught out at mid-wicket by Taneale Peschel.
The Bathurst talent was given a second over in the power play - conceding just four runs - and when thrown the ball again in was in the final over.
Though victory was already secured, Griffith snagged another wicket with Deepti Sharma caught out off a short ball.
Griffith bowled 11 dot balls across her three overs for an economy rate of 5.67, while the fastest of her measured deliveries was 112.6km/hr.
Scorchers won the match by 81 runs to move into third on the WBBL ladder.
Griffith will be hoping she is again included in the starting XI for the Scorchers' next match, will be on Saturday against the Adelaide Strikers in Perth.
