The work was completed by local builders Lawrence Sim and Blair Stapley, who contributed their respective steelwork and carpentry expertise to the project.
Mr Stapley said it was a challenging, but exciting project to be part of.
"We used Oregon timber from the original building, ripped off the old, weathered edges and bent some timber around the top to ensure the doors would fit seamlessly in the archway," Mr Stapley said.
"It was a bit of a headache trying to bend the timber: I had to soak the timber in hot water overnight and repeat the process in the morning to ensure the timber was dense enough to contort."
Mr Stapley said such a project required a greater eye for detail from a building perspective to fit into the heritage building's foundations.
"We had to make sure it didn't look out of place and tacky, given the heritage value of the building," he said.
Mr Sim, who worked on the hinges, bearings, frames and locks, said he had to find a compromise between heritage and modern building technologies to make it work.
"The doors had to fit in, but we had to ensure the hinges were of a modern standard," he said.
"It's been nice to work on something a little different, instead of the 'same old, same old', it had to match the building and be fully functional at the end of the day, and we're glad to have contributed to such a vital heritage asset."
Tremain's Mill owner Stephen Birrell said a steel arch from one of the original doors was found within the complex, and served as a focal point for the construction of the door.
"There was a lot of guesswork involved regarding height, but we knew from someone who had previously worked here that an arched door once stood at the location before bricks were removed to allow trucks to enter," Mr Birrell said.
"We did a quick draft and spoke to Lawrence and Blair, and they've done an amazing job; it looks magnificent."
Mr Birrell said works are currently afoot to restore the 'Tremain's Bros.' logo at two sites within the precinct. One logo will replace the existing Bedwell's logo above the new door, and the other will adorn the blank wall above the Spinifex Recruiting office.
