The program, which has received support from Live Music Australia, will see a host of original musicians from across the region take the Little Alberts stage on Sunday afternoons to showcase their creativity to new audiences.
First up on the Live and Kicking line-up will be Orange's Darren Smith and Dubbo's Clinton Hoy, who will take the stage at Little Alberts this Sunday, November 14 from 3pm, with doors opening at 2pm.
Arts OutWest music industry support officer Patrick Coomey said the program, which will also run in other Central West communities, will aim to bring artists outside of their home towns to venues they've never performed at before.
"There will be a wide breadth of musical styles on show through this program, from establish musicians who have been writing music for a number of years, to emerging acts who are starting to cut their teeth into the industry," Mr Coomey said.
Smith and Hoy will be followed by emerging Bathurst talents Jazzy Gold and Ben Rudgley [November 21], Cowra folk artist Josh Maynard and his band [November 28], adopted local rocker Dave Webb and his band [December 5] and Americana musician Cletis Carr [December 12].
Mr Coomey said the acts have been selected to cater for a wide range of interests.
"Maynard has been a staple on the Central West music scene since he was about 14, and has worked alongside the likes of Shane Howard [Goanna] and John Schumann [Redgum]," he said.
"Then you've got Webb, who'll be a treat for rock fans, Carr with his Americana trio [he's opened for Tom Petty before], Gold and Rudgley for the younger crowd and, this Sunday, two seasoned, bare-bones singer-songwriters in Hoy and Smith; there'll truly be something for everyone."
Tickets to each Live and Kicking gig cost $10, with free entry for children under 12.
