INTRODUCTION: I am running as a solo candidate for a second time. I believe in running on my own merits and don't see the point running a ticket with three or four candidates that have no real interest in being a Councillor. I don't think the voter benefits from team tickets.

PRIORITIES:
1. A skatepark and improved amenities in Raglan.
2. Sealed car park behind the Bushrangers AFL clubhouse at George Park.
3. Progress the Hereford Street road widening and bridge raising.
BIMC: It's brilliant, this will be a massive shot in the arm for the CBD, it will improve foot traffic for small business and increased carparking is a must, the community have been begging for more parking for years. This kills several birds with the one stone and increased parking is critical for infrastructure such as this medical centre, just look at the lack of carparking spaces at the Base Hospital. An exemption for this project regarding height limits is a no brainer. Health over Heritage, the health and wellbeing of people in this area must be a priority, this facility will allow locals to undertake treatment for numerous medical issues without leaving the city and it will bring in a large number of people from outside Bathurst. This will be the best thing to happen to the health and wellness of our community, the CBD and small business in a very long time. Everybody wins!!
WATER SECURITY: Council is currently working on a Stormwater harvesting project which has my full support, I'm working hard behind the scenes to ensure this is completed in timely manner.
RIVER CROSSING: Yes, a connection to Bradwardine Road makes the most sense to me and this has already been identified in future planning.
AMBULANCE STATION: I'd support any business owner who wanted to utilise this space for any reason. I want to see private interests invest in this building and let's face it the possibilities are endless, a café, a bar, childcare centre, gym, office space, retail, they would all be fantastic at that location. I'm passionate about private interests investing in the city and I'd like to see them utilise this space, so this building gets the love and attention it deserves and ultimately, I want to see job opportunities for locals. I don't think everything has to be run and funded by council.
GO-KART TRACK: Yes, Bathurst is the home motorsport and as such I believe we should have a go-kart track. Local, State and Federal funding should be sourced for this project like any other, however if other funding is not forthcoming, I have no issue with council building the facility just like council has funded many other amazing sporting facilities in the region.
RATES CAP: No, I don't but we may not have a choice. I'm like everyone else, when rate time comes around it stings, so only as a last resort. I do think there is waste on council and council perhaps should focus more on its core business, roads, rubbish and reserves. Its lovely to have flash museum's and the like but people need good road infrastructure to travel to them. Back to basics.
BUSINESS COMMUNITY: Quarterly meetings between Councillors, Senior Council Staff, The Business Chamber and Business owners are required. Councillors and Council need to be seen as being pro-business, the Taco Bell situation is absolutely disgraceful. If developers have picked a site, they've picked it with good reason, and it bothers me unqualified councillors disputed it and risked the entire venture, especially when 70 local jobs are on the line. Orange seems to do a much better job in dealing with its business community, they don't seem to have the constant heritage and red tape hassles Bathurst does. Council needs to get out of the way. This city needs an active hard hitting Business Chamber. There is no doubt the relationship needs to be improved and that's a job for all Councillors, council staff and Business Chamber members equally and something that's been identified moving forward. Without a strong Business Chamber local small businesses suffer.
WOMEN'S VOICE: Women and Men are welcome to all monthly council meetings to address the chamber.
COUNCIL DIVISIONS: I think most councillors would agree we could do better moving forward. I know I have learnt a lot over the last four years and I'm excited to start again on a clean slate if re-elected. In politics there will always be disagreements and Council is like any workplace where people have personality clashes and disagreements from time to time. You don't have to be friends you just have to get the job done, that's how it is for any setting. Diversity and differing opinions are what you want in a council, but the priority is delivering for the community. It's a little known fact that 7 of the 9 Councillors would remain behind after every meeting and have a laugh and a chat whilst enjoying a sandwich. The division in council was very small and didn't prevent me from achieving every single one of my 2017 promises, being the Mitre, Lambert and Suttor Street roundabout, an incredible CCTV system for our CBD, moving unsafe crossings from the Howick and George Street roundabouts, protecting and improving Centennial Park, Hundreds of thousands of dollars in improved footpaths, the Aqua Park tourism attraction and countless other successes I played a major part in. I achieved all of these things because I worked well with the vast majority of hard working Councillors, the community deserve no less.
FUNDING: Zero, totally self-funded. I spend very little on campaigning.
