Council operates as a team effort. Running a ticket with members with diverse life experiences demonstrates the ability to manage a team and work constructively to achieve beneficial outcomes.
PRIORITIES:
Water Security
Traffic Management (infrastructure)
Second Crossing over the Macquarie
Effective community consultation with the Business Chamber and the wider Community
BIMC: This matter will be decided by the State Government. Ratepayers should not have to pay for the development of the car park. I am agnostic to the height limits.
WATER SECURITY: Encourage water storage tanks. New housing estates to have increased water storage with capacity based on land footprint using a modified BASIX .
RIVER CROSSING: Yes this is important to cater for expanded development at Eglington and while many options have been canvassed in our survey. Bradwardine Road and Eleven Mile Drive would be a good choice. However we are not Civil Engineers!
AMBULANCE STATION: Community Consultation should decide this in line with the Conservation Management Plan.
GO-KART TRACK: Yes if noise levels meet regulatory standards. Yes if a transition to ekarts is met, perhaps on weekends. Funding from a Private Public Partnership with an investment return to ratepayers.
RATES CAP: No more details are required here regarding the nature of the items in backlog.
BUSINESS COMMUNITY: The local business community needs to have a plan of action for each of the areas of interest to bring to Council for consideration:
Small Business Retail
Construction
Agriculture
Professionals
Tourism
WOMEN'S VOICE: I do not support a mandate; however more efforts should be made to encourage women to politics. We have 60% of our team women with a strong No.2.
COUNCIL DIVISIONS: Listen, negotiate, compromise and not be adversarial, but sometimes people do not listen and that is why we have so many divorces.
