The upgraded stage was revealed on the weekend, with Tracey Callinan, from Arts OutWest performing official duties at the reveal.
As part of the upgrade new rigging for lighting was installed.
Keystone owner Trish Carr said the works allow the venue to deepen it capabilities for hosting events.
"We've re-rigged the house curtain to bring it up to modern stage requirements, and installed three new stage archways to facilitate a variety of lighting configurations," Ms Carr said.
"We wanted to provide an up-to-date space for local productions and live performance, as well as encourage theatre, dance and music productions looking for a venue to lock in a tour date at."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Ms Carr said the stage upgrade is timely considering Bathurst's return to a 'new normal' way of life post-lockdown, as well as the resumption of regional travel.
"We're definitely getting a lot of enquiries from productions looking for a venue, and we're committed to ensuring all their needs are met," she said.
Ms Carr said during the reveal the new stage was christened by a number of performers who loved the new space.
She said the installation of three new lighting bars provided a higher level of production for the centre.
"We are targeting regional touring and all things performance; theatre, musical and comedy," she said.
She said there is also plenty of opportunity for local productions.
Ms Carr said Keystone was aiming to be a unique, intimate, immersive and inclusive theatre space.
She said during lockdown she had been working with Arts OutWest, Music NSW, Arts on Tour and other leading industry bodies ascertaining exactly what performers need and want in a venue.
"We've designed the stage to meet those needs," she said.
She said she was now looking for grants and funding opportunities to continue the work.
"I'd like to get a grant for front of house lighting, which will keep production costs down for those using the space, especially local productions," she said.
