Lauren Sheraton is number 2 on our ticket. Lauren is a local lady who is a Family Law Solicitor with local Firm Kenny Spring. She is very passionate about creating a future for Bathurst we can all be proud of.
Bruce Walker a former NRL player, Australian and State of Origin Representative. Prior to moving to the town he fell in love with, he was the State Manager of Men of League. Bruce has a wealth of knowledge and experience in life, that any community he is part of can and will benefit from.
Emileah Cossu is a dynamic young woman in the early stages of establishing her working career. She recently brought her first home with her partner and is keen to bring the needs, through her voice, to support our younger residents.
Last but not least, Steve Ingwersen. Steve is a local tradie of over 30 years experience and has been involved, in one way or the other, with the community he loves and supports. Steve with his partner also run a very successful local cafe.
I ran a team for one reason , I believe it was the right way to go as I did in 2017.
PRIORITIES:
1. Bathurst Integrated Medical Centre and Multi Storey car park
2. Water Security and our local road network
3. Supporting our business community, both large and small
BIMC: It's a must do as the facilities are much needed in our community.
WATER SECURITY: Continue to work for Water Security with all levels of government and authorities. Yes, it's not easy but it must be done to overcome all the obstacles in our way. This is done by doing all the necessary studies, and taking a collaborative and professional approach to the job at hand.
RIVER CROSSING: Yes I do support a new river crossing, where it best supports the community.
AMBULANCE STATION: Ambulance station should be used for what the community as a whole wants. We are at a very early stage in the journey of the re use of the former ambulance station.
GO-KART TRACK: Yes I do on the old Drive- in site. How the council of the day agrees to fund it.
RATES CAP: A Special Rate Variation SVR, needs to be looked at and thoroughly investigated and the community NEEDS to be consulted.
BUSINESS COMMUNITY: Since becoming the Mayor I have been working closely with the Chamber and business leaders, as has council staff. I want to see a vibrant Business Chamber that works closely with council.
WOMEN'S VOICE: Two candidates of Team North are women, plus our team is supporting a female who is a sole candidate. The community elects the councillors, so the community will decide how many women are elected.
COMMUNITY DIVISIONS: I work with all councillors, always have and will.
