It was simply giving it a crack at the inaugural Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon Club's women's only race in 2018 that got Robinson hooked on the sport.
She's loved the combination of swim, cycle, run, but even more Robinson has relished the chance to race in such a positive and supportive environment.
It's a feeling she wants more women to discover and this Sunday's fourth edition of the women's only triathlon is a perfect opportunity to do so.
"Just come and give it a crack, it's about you, not everyone else and the women's only race is so friendly, it's the one to do, everyone is so encouraging," she said.
"You can do a team if you're that worried, put it on the Facebook page and join a team, there are people out there who are thinking the same. If you do a team it's not as daunting."
Robinson has long been involved with Oberon hockey, but when the Bathurst Wallabies made a big push to get more women involved with the sport via the females only race she decided to try a new sport.
She's glad she did.
"I'd always wanted to do one, then when I saw it and they were like come along, come along, I thought okay. I've just enjoyed it since because the Bathurst club is so friendly," she said.
"It's just a feeling of accomplishment I suppose. I do very much like it, I enjoy it."
While Robinson jokes "I can't swim" and that "I'm no elite athlete", she points out the triathlon format gives competitors the chance to make up for weaker legs and it is more about personal goals than rivalry.
"Because you've got your swim, your run and your bike, it doesn't matter if you are weak at one leg, you can pick it up on another leg," she said.
"You're not there to win, you're there to race against your time, it's about you. Then you go back again - it's okay last time I did the run in this many minutes, I'm going to shave a minute off.
"It's completely a race against yourself."
Sunday's women's only triathlon is a one distance for all event with a 200 metres swim done in an M shape to spread competitors out, 16 kilometre bike leg and 2.5km run. It starts at 9am.
