This week's historic photo was taken in front of the head gardener's cottage in Machattie Park on August 5, 1908. The cottage was built in 1890. The bride and groom were Jessie Lynch and Malcolm Groat.
JESSIE Lynch was the third daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Lynch (last couple on the right) who lived in the gardener's cottage in Machattie Park from 1907 to 1925. Henry Lynch was the popular curator of Machattie Park. Jessie married Malcolm Groat in All Saints' Cathedral, Bathurst on August 5, 1908.

It was described as "a pretty wedding" where Malcolm Campbell, son of Mrs. John Groat, of Orange, was married to Jessie, third daughter of Mr. H. Lynch, of Machattie Park, Bathurst.
The church was decorated for the occasion and at the conclusion of the ceremony the Cathedral bells were chimed. The Very Reverend Dean Marriott officiated.
The names of most of the wedding party are known. Can you identity anyone else?
In the back row of the photo are Jane Mansell, Ivy Jackson, Gertie Makepeice, Effie Vaisley, Ethel Makepiece and Daisy Makepiece.
In the front row are Mrs and Mr Keiff, Katy Whalan, Ann West, (?), Archy Lynch, Les Flynn, Andrew Vaisley, Dean Marriot, Fanny Lynch, Chales Dalby, (?), Jean Groat, John Groat, Malcolm Groat, Jessie Groat, Mrs Williams, Kathie Lynch, Jessie Groat, Janet Groat, Bartley Lynch, and Mr and Mrs Henry Lynch.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of ivory silk, trimmed with Brussells lace and chiffon, and, in addition to wearing the customary wreath and veil, carried a shower bouquet, which, with a silver-mounted purse, was the gift of the bridegroom.
The bride's present to the bridegroom took the form of a set of silver-backed toilet brushes.
There were four bridesmaids - Misses Kathie and Fanny Lynch, sisters of the bride, and Misses Jean and Jessie Groat, sisters of the bridegroom. The dresses worn by the Misses Lynch were of white silk, adorned with Malines lace and touches of floral ribbon, and finished with drop trimmings.
Both wore pink hats, with large feathers. The Misses Groat were attired in white silk, trimmed with torchon lace, and wore white silk net hats, bedecked with feathers. Each of the bridesmaids carried a shower bouquet, with pink streamers, and wore a gold bangle, the gifts of the bridegroom.
Mr. J.W. Groat (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, and Messrs. C.W. Dalley, (cousin of the bridegroom) and A. Lynch (brother of the bride) also attended.
The mother of the bride was dressed in blue voile, with floral ribbon and drop trimmings, relieved with cream, and wore a blue toque to match.
The costume worn by the mother of the bridegroom consisted of black Merv silk, adorned with black applique and black toque.
The subsequent reception took place at the residence of the bride's parents, and the happy couple left by the western mail this morning on their honeymoon.
The bride travelled in pale blue silk voile, prettily trimmed, and a blue picture hat, bedecked with a large feather.
Amongst the nice collection of presents received by the bride was a silver hot-water kettle from the scholars of the Flyer's Creek Public School and their parents.
