The Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon Club's women's coordinator had every reason too as well - it's because she is seeing others discover the same passion she has for the sport.
Amongst the field for the fourth edition of the women's only event were both experienced campaigners plus plenty of newcomers. They ranged in age from 13 to a 70 plus competitor.
Blackie said it was "so great to see some beautiful, young women" competing, but thanked all those who tackled the 200 metres swim, 16km cycle and 2.5km run.
"This event is important to this club, to us as individual women who get to enjoy it, and then to the wider community that we influence by our actions here today," Blackie said.
"We need a world where more people prioritise an active lifestyle as a way of keeping themselves and their families happy and healthy. Women play such a key role in influencing this change.
"Thank you to all our Wallabies women who not only participate enthusiastically themselves, but who encourage others to come along too - their friends and family."
Luke Gillmer who helped many of Sunday's competitors prepare with training sessions is planning a follow up to that in January.
