New Year's Eve has been known to turn sour in the past, with people often doing the wrong thing under the influence of alcohol, but that wasn't the case this year.
Chifley Police District acting Inspector Mick White said it was a relatively quiet night for officers in Bathurst.
"There were no arrests made overnight in Bathurst," he said.
"Crowd behaviour at the Party in the Park on New Year's Eve was overall good. The event went off without a hitch and without an negative interaction that we had to deal with.
"... It was a fairly good night from our point of view and people generally behaved themselves, which is good to see."
There was also good behaviour at the licensed venues across Bathurst.
Only a couple of small incidents marred what was otherwise a perfect night.
"There was just one little direction issued at the Dudley Hotel to a male," acting Inspector White said.
"He had been previously banned by management from the hotel and he turned up there [Friday] night at about 9.45pm and refused to leave.
"Police were called to issue a move-on direction and he was moved on without incident."
There was also an assault at the Family Hotel that police were called to respond to.
"Two males have allegedly assaulted another male at about 11.15pm in the hotel," acting Inspector White said.
"It's not really known why the incident took place, but there are further investigations being conducted in relation to that."
