Boylan-Smith will be accompanied by his full band and support acts on January 29 for two separate shows, with doors for both performances opening at 1pm and 6pm respectively.
The Western Advocate last spoke to Boylan-Smith when he was preparing to release '16 Miles Wide': the debut single from his upcoming record, which is set for release later this year.
Boylan-Smith said the song examines mental health more specifically through the lens of addiction.
"I remember talking to a good friend once who said that his depression felt a big black nothingness in front of him," he said.
"I was speaking to another dear friend that was suffering with addiction and detected a whole lot of guilt when he told me, so I sat down and wrote the song in a pretty short time period, with the main message in my head being that this truly wasn't his fault."
In the lead-up to his Bathurst shows, Boylan-Smith has teased the launch of a second single, entitled 'Somewhere in Soho', with a release date yet to be announced.
"I am closing old chapters and opening new books...there is so very much to read, and in turn write," he posted to his Facebook page on December 30.
"I honestly look forward to 2022, I get to meet you at shows again and release music that I've been sitting on for so long."
Tickets to both shows cost $30 each. For more information, visit The Victoria Bathurst Facebook page.
