The community will gather next Wednesday to celebrate what it means to be Australian.
Bathurst Regional Council will kick off the celebrations at 9.30am with the citizenship ceremony at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.
This year there are 14 people that will become citizens.
They will get to meet Paralympian Tiffany Thomas Kane, who was recently named Bathurst's Australia Day Ambassador.
The decorated swimmer won two bronze medals at the Tokyo Paralympics in breast stroke and individual medley events and she won gold at the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships in London.
The 20-year-old has previously been an ambassador at Port Macquarie in 2021 and Armidale in 2018.
A council spokesperson said she will welcome the new citizens at the ceremony.
The community awards will also be presented at the event.
Originally, residents were going to be able to enjoy a community barbecue and picnic out at Rockley, but the event was cancelled on Monday.
The Rockley and District Community Association said the decision was made in response to "the current COVID concerns expressed by local community members and the organisers".
Although that event has been scrapped, people can still enjoy an afternoon at the Manning Aquatic Centre.
Free entry will be offered again, this time from 11am to 5.30pm.
"Free entry to the pool has always been a popular," the council spokesperson said.
The Australia Day events will all have COVID safety plans to limit the risk of the virus spreading.
Sadly, there will be no fireworks to cap off the night as there was in 2021.
The spectacular light show was part of the Bathurst Fun Fair, an external event.
"The fireworks last year was part of and organised by the Fun Fair. They haven't made plans to return to Bathurst at this time," the council spokesperson said.
