Greg Madden is spot on with his assessment that the Trinity roundabout is the true pinch point for the Hereford Street traffic problems - not the width of Hereford Street, nor the height of the Edgell Bridge.
Widening the roundabout to a true two lanes is a must - and in the meantime, removing the forest in the middle of the roundabout would greatly assist the congestion at the intersection, so the traffic can flow smoothly through the roundabout (as roundabouts are intended), rather than the current situation where vehicles have to stop unnecessarily before entering the roundabout because their vision is obscured by all the shrubbery.

The traffic is really only a problem in those two peak times on weekdays, not on weekends, and at a much lesser degree during school holidays - so any installation of traffic lights at the Gilmour/Hereford intersection would create an inconvenience by holding up traffic flow at all other times, when there isn't currently any problem.
A roundabout at the entrance to the rugby/league grounds is completely unnecessary - but some entrance signage to acknowledge the late Anne Ashwood on her park there is sorely overdue.
