Sergeant Ryan Baird and Leading Senior Constable Josh Marsh attended the meeting at Bathurst Panthers to give a traffic presentation tailored for older drivers within the community.
The audience of about 40 heard about random breath testing, random drug testing, the pensioner registration process, road safety when towing caravans and medical assessments for licence holders who are over the age of 75.
At the end of the presentation, Sergeant Baird and Leading Senior Constable Marsh were able to take questions from the floor.
"This engagement with the older age group of drivers is extremely beneficial to ensuring that they don't get left behind in the changes to road rules and legislation," Sergeant Baird said.
He said he and Leading Senior Constable Marsh received a thank you card from the Probus club that said, in part, that "your explanations about issues that affect our older age group was really excellent".
"The enthusiasm that showed in your explanation of things, and your desired aim to be community involved was a really admirable goal," the card said.
"The two of you combined well and gave us much information."
