Rugby fired up when the pressure was on in their previous game against Bathurst City, to win by four wickets in a bowler-dominant game, and they'll have to win again to lock in another finals appearance in the Twenty20 competition.

A loss would leave the team reliant on other results to go their way, and that's a situation that captain Ryan Peacock is keen to avoid.

"We said last game that it was pretty much like a semi-final, and this one will be as well," he said.

"It's no different to last time when we got into finals quickly. We're used to the situation and we're used to playing under the lights at Wade Park. This shouldn't feel any different."

Assuming the rain manages to stay away in the build up towards Friday's game Rugby will be expecting a very different Wade Park wicket from the one they previously played on.

The win over Redbacks was a game decided in the field, as Rugby knocked over City for 70 but had some stumbles themselves on the way towards chasing down the target with 14 balls to spare.

"That was a bit of a different sort of T20 game, not the usual thing that you'd expect," Peacock laughed.

"The experience our side has in T20s at Wade Park over the years at Wade Park played a big part, and that should again here.

"We've got plans, and it doesn't really change. Whether it's a game against Pat's or a game against Lithgow we're approaching it the same way."

Marquee player Marty Jeffrey wasn't available for the previous game with Redbacks but is expected to take the field for Rugby this Friday.

"We're looking pretty much at full strength and we'll have Marty coming over from Dubbo so that will help us out for sure," Peacock said.

Friday's prediction is a 30 per cent chance of rain, but at less than a millilitre.
