It's not been the most exhilarating of starts to the Western Zone Premier League season for Bathurst but they'll be gunning for their first completed game of the season when they welcome Parkes to Morse Park 1 this Sunday.
Bathurst, who have played just a single innings this season, need wins over the visiting Parkes and Cowra squads in their final two games to reach the decider and have a shot at defending their title.
Thankfully for Bathurst the weather this Sunday is predicted to finally be on their side, with a 26 degree day and only the slightest chance of minimal rain in the morning.
Bathurst skipper Adam Ryan said the pressure is certainly on, but from the limited time the team did get to enjoy on the pitch this season he's confident in the group's capabilities.
"Last game we did get a chance to bat out our full innings and we put on a nice score, so we're pretty excited," he said.
"With less games it makes it more crucial to get the points. It's a must win for us.
"The last couple of years have felt similar, where we need to try and play your best cricket every game because you've got no room for complacency."
That haul of 267 against Orange was a show of Bathurst's destructive capabilities, led by half centuries from Bailey Brien (82) and Ryan Peacock (57).
Parkes have completed a game this WZPL season, going down to perennial powerhouse Dubbo last round.
They pushed Dubbo to the limit in that game, only going down by two wickets.
It's a performance that certainly caught the eye of Ryan.
"They've got the Bayliss' [Harry and Zach], Brent [Tucker] and Myles Smith as well. It will be a really good test for us," he said.
"You obviously only get to play them once per year so you can never be too sure who they've lost or gained but I expect them to be very strong."
Nic Broes and Jack Goodsell are back into the Bathurst side after being unavailable for the Orange game.
The Bathurst squad is composed entirely of the city's two leading club sides, with eight coming from St Pat's Old Boys and four from Rugby Union.
It will be an exciting day of representative cricket for Bathurst, who will also have their Rod Hartas Trophy side playing next door on Morse Park 2.
"What I'm loving about Bathurst cricket at the moment is the strength of our Rod Hartas Cup team. Over the two grades we've seen so many people putting their hands up, and that puts the onus on us to make sure that we're 100 per cent on our game," Ryan said.
"The likes of Dave Sellers, Ben Cant and a few others are playing really well at the moment and are pushing their way towards the side. It's a great position to be in, to have so many talented players and to have a culture where everyone wants to play for Bathurst."
The other game this round sees Dubbo hosting Cowra.
The match at Morse Park 1 gets underway from 10am.
