Greer Films, a creative media business owned and operated by Pat Greer and Mo Standen, have spent the last little while transforming a space at 5/13 Watt Drive into an all-encompassing media hub catering for a variety of interests.
Ms Standen said it'll be more than simply a new base of operations for Greer Films.
"Pat and I have set up the studio as two distinct spaces: upstairs will be predominantly where Greer Films operations will take place, but downstairs will be centred around Octo, a collaborative creative initiative we've been working on since April last year," she said.
"We want Octo to be a space for a wide variety of budding creatives to utilise, whether they're a budding photographer, visual artist, musician videographer or podcast producer.
"It isn't just a new space for Greer Films, it's as much a space for Octo to create a hive mentality for creatives of numerous disciplines in the Central West."
The new studio includes a number of features tailored to a wide range of creatives, including 'blank' white and black spaces for photography, an audio booth for podcast and video productions and furnishings to assist in the planning process.
Mr Greer said the Octo initiative is all about inviting creatives to bring their vision beyond the bedroom, garage or cafe to a space around like-minded individuals.
"As things grow further, we'd ideally like to get to the point where we're asking creatives to showcase their projects within the space for the general public," he said.
"We want to help the creative and media industries grow further in the Central West; Greer Films has taught Mo and I a lot about media production and its intrinsic value to the Bathurst community, and this venue will, in tandem with our existing business, be a chance to connect and share expertise with fellow creatives."
Greer Films has been in operation since 2018, providing tailored media and promotional solutions for a wide variety of clients, including local businesses, wedding parties, schools and learning centres.
Ms Standen said the new space is already providing plenty of inspiration for future projects.
"This space will help us not only grow as a business, but as creatives, and Pat and I still feel it's pretty surreal that we've reached this point," she said.
An open day is scheduled for February 8. For more information, visit the Greer Films Facebook page.
