HOSPITALISED COVID cases have fallen in the Western NSW Local Health District but ICU cases are up, according to the latest update.

There are now 23 cases in the health district's hospitals - down on 25 in the previous 24 hours - but four of those cases are in ICU.
That is an increase on the two that were in ICU in the previous 24 hours and is higher than the three that were in ICU in mid-January.
There were 439 positive PCR test results and 245 positive rapid antigen test (RAT) results identified in the Western NSW Local Health District in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday.
Bathurst Regional local government area had 127 new cases identified by PCR, Dubbo had 154 and Orange 114.
Oberon had seven and Blayney Shire 16.

Across NSW, in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, there were 17,316 positive test results (cases) notified - 7382 positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) and 9934 positive PCR tests.
There were 29 deaths reported by NSW Health - 10 women and 19 men.
Nine people were from south-western Sydney, three from southern Sydney, two from the Northern Beaches, two from western Sydney, two from Sydney's Inner West, two from south-eastern Sydney, two from Inner Sydney, two from the Lake Macquarie area, one from northern Sydney, one from the Tweed area, one from the Central Coast, one from Batemans Bay, and one from the Northern Rivers area.

Of those, 72 require ventilation, which is down by three on the previous day.
