WELL over $1000 has been raised by an Australia Day promotion at Perthville.
The village's Metro Petroleum Perthville pledged to give the total amount from each hot or fried food sale on Wednesday to the Perthville Development Group.
A donation box was also made available for the petrol station's customers.
The fundraiser resulted in $1210 being handed over to the Perthville Development Group, which runs the Perthville Village Fair.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
In the lead-up to the Australia Day fundraiser, Perthville Development Group publicity officer Tiffany Leahy said it had been tough for the group to raise funds in recent times due to COVID.
"It's a huge contribution and support for the group given the support's been so limited over the past couple of years," she said.
Metro Petroleum raised money last year for Perthville Public School and, the year before, donated its funds to the local Rural Fire Service.
