To be held in Orange from Saturday to Monday, Bathurst will be competing in division two at the state titles, with the squad scheduled to play at least three pool games.
While coach Brett Daymond said his squad is slightly inexperienced, he does have some experience in the likes of Will Daymond and Logan Speer.
"We're a very inexperienced team, so we're not expecting to light the world on fire," he said.
"There's only two boys - Will Daymond and Logan Speer - that have played at a championship before. They've actually played quite a few championships already and they're in the state squads for outdoor hockey, so they're actually quite good players.
"I'll be leaning on them to lead the younger brigade, to show them the ropes."
With a number of squad members playing up an age group, Daymond is focused on making sure the players develop well and most importantly have fun.
"It's a fairly new team and there's actually two boys that are under 11s, so they're playing up an age group," he said.
"We're seeing this as a great development opportunity for the kids and we're going in with an attitude that we'll improve game by game and have lots of fun.
"That's what we want to achieve on the weekend and anything that happens after that, that's a bonus."
Preparation for the competition has been slightly interrupted due to school holidays, with the under 13s boys unable to have a single training session with every team member present.
But the Bathurst boys will be looking forward to getting their campaign underway against Goulburn on Saturday afternoon at the PCYC Orange, before a local derby against Orange that evening.
"That's a bit of a grudge match because we know the Orange kids," Daymond said.
"They're all probably looking forward to putting on their best game. They've got a couple of mates that play in the Western Stars regional team, so they'll be looking forward to getting one over their mates I reckon."
Bathurst's game against Goulburn will get underway at 1pm, before a 6pm start against the hosts.
The squad's final pool game will be against Nepean at 11am on Sunday morning, before teams progress to the play-off stage.
Meanwhile, the Bathurst under 13s girls began their campaign on Friday with a 5-0 defeat against Northern Sydney and Beaches.
That was followed by a 16-0 defeat against North West Sydney in the afternoon.
Their campaign will continued throughout Saturday and Sunday.
