The Macquarie River has fallen to 3.09 metres at Bathurst this afternoon and is expected to continue falling.
The spill from Burrendong Dam is expected to peak at 40,000 megalitres per day, with State Water personnel saying they believe this will be the maximum rate of flow.
The Sydney Road is open, but other Bathurst road closures remain in place.
Meanwhile, the Macquarie River is expected to peak at Dubbo at 7.9 metres around 12pm.
Narromine and Warren are also preparing for the flood waters to rush through town with moderate flooding expected at Narromine tomorrow and major flooding expected at Warren on Sunday night.
