Trevor Kingham from Silva’s Newsagency was beside himself with joy yesterday when NSW Lotteries notified him his outlet had sold the winning ticket in $5 Jackpot lottery draw number 845.
“I don’t know any other details of who it might be,” he said. “The details just popped up on the terminal after this morning’s draw.
“The winning ticket number is 170611, so start checking those tickets. It could be you.”
Mr Kingham said it had been a while since they hit pay dirt for a customer with a major win like this.
“By far the most popular lottery is the $2 Jackpot,” he said. “However, at present the $5 Jackpot is up to $4.25 million. As a result a lot of the $2 players have jumped ship and are having a crack at the $5 Jackpot.”
The big win for Silva’s follows another good local lottery result for the team at News ‘n More in the Stockland Shopping Centre earlier this month.
One lucky regular female player took home $100,000 as the first prize in the $2 Jackpot lottery. Stacey Buttsworth from News ‘n More said their winner was most deserving as the lady’s son was getting married.
On the same day Bathurst also picked up a $20,000 second prize winner in the $5 Jackpot lottery.
