The man, a registered player but otherwise unidentified, won the $100,000 first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10231.
When a NSW Lotteries official made contact with the man, he initially thought the call was a hoax.
However, he soon realised he held a ticket worth $100,000.
“Oh, that’s just wonderful news! Oh my God, that is the best news ever,” he exclaimed.
The regular player shared he always knew that one day he’d get a phone call about winning the lottery.
“To get that phone call today is just amazing. Thank you so much,” he said.
“It’s just lovely. I’m going to use that money to help my family.
“This is just the best news ever. One hundred thousand dollars is just the most amazing amount and it’s the biggest thing I’ve ever won.”

The man purchased his entry of five consecutive numbers at Kelso Newsagency on Boyd Street.
Kelso Newsagency owner Wayne Beard said he was ready to share a bottle of champagne with his outlet’s latest Lucky Lotteries winner.
“That’s great news. Good on him,” he said.
“We’ve sold first prize winning Lucky Lotteries tickets before, but it’s been a long time between drinks.
“It’s nice to see the wins back in store and we can’t wait to tell all our customers.”
Mr Beard said it had been about eight years since he had sold a significant lottery prize at his store and he was happy for the winner.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $13.48 million for draw 1103 while the Lucky LotteriesSuper Jackpot is now $3.62 million for draw 10232.
Tickets are $2.20 for a Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot ticket or $5.50 for a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot.
