Kaylee is representing Australia as the current Toyota Star Maker, and is one of eight artists taking to The Stage on Broadway, the edgiest country club in the states.
It’s actually the second time Kaylee has performed for the showcase, she was there two years ago after winning the New Zealand Horizon Award. This time, Kaylee is representing Australia, and said she can’t wait.
“It’s going to be pretty cool,” she said.
The showcase is a big industry event, put on by Aristo Media, and is an introduction to the CMA Fest Week which features performances by super stars Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.
“They [the big names] are playing during the four nights, our performance is the lead up to the big stuff,” she said.
It’s been a whirlwind couple of months for the Toyota Star Maker winner. Just a few weeks ago, she was in Queensland for the 10th annual Urban Country Music Festival in Caboolture, where she was listed as a feature artist alongside country music legends Lee Kernaghan and Troy Cassar-Daley.
This month also marked the iTunes release of her highly awaited single Heart First, which rocketed up the charts. She has only just completed the filming of the song’s video clip, which was shot in Londonderry.
Kaylee said she was excited about the momentum her career was taking, saying winning the Toyota Star Maker gives her a head start to a career in country music.
