The former coach, who took the Wallabies to World Cup victory in 1991, will be addressing around 140 guests on rugby in Australia and will no doubt be giving his insight on how to get our national team back to the top of the world table.
Dwyer made headlines throughout England last month when he accused the British and Irish Lions of cheating on their recent Australian tour.
The event, an institution at the local rugby club, has previously hosted the likes of journalist, author and former Wallaby Peter FitzSimons and Paralympian Kurt Fearnley.
The lunch will be catered by Al Dente’s Scott Taylor and the afternoon will also include auctions.
Among the prizes up for grabs will be a signed Wallabies jersey.
Organising committee member Matt Sharwood said the fact that this year’s lunch is a sell-out is testament to what a great event it has become and he said the club is very fortunate to have such eager supporters.
Mr Sharwood said the afternoon provides an opportunity to enjoy a great lunch, a few drinks and hear from one of the game’s top coaches.
Money raised from the event will go to providing further improvements to infrastructure at the club and grounds. In the past, the day has funded concreting and chairs for the grandstand area.
The President’s Long Lunch will be held this Friday at the Bulldogs’ clubhouse at Ashwood Park from 12.30-6.30pm.
