Bell recently spent time in Nashville, Tennessee putting the finishing touches to her album, Heart First, and recording a film clip for the title track.
And 24 hours prior to the launch of the album, Bell was delighted to hear that Heart First had come in at number one on the New Zealand iTunes Country Charts, ahead of country superstar Taylor Swift.
Bell has been making the most of her year as the 34th Toyota Star Maker.
Heart First was launched earlier this month at The Good Companions Hotel in Tamworth during the annual Hats Off To Country Festival, and is receiving a lot of positive feedback from country fans.
Bell is currently in New Zealand where she has returned to launch the album which has been described as contemporary country pop. She has just been announced as a top three finalist in the NZ Country Music Awards to be held on August 17.
In a post on her official Facebook page, Bell could not contain her excitement.
“Very excited to be a top three finalist for Best Female Artist at the NZ Country Music Awards in Hamilton in August! Can’t wait to play at the show, headlined by Juice Newton from USA and featuring lots of Kiwi singing friends!” she wrote.
