Early last week every Year 12 student in NSW had to sit the English exams, but now the testing period has become a bit more relaxed as some students enjoy the gaps between each subject.
Some students let the intensity and pressure of the exams get on top of them, but there are others who take a more relaxed approach to their studies.
The students at All Saints’ College are at the calmer end of the spectrum and are doing their best to rely on the immense amount of study they have already completed.
Thirty of the school’s students exited the hall from their last high school biology exam yesterday afternoon.
Micah Wong was among them, and he was as cool as a cucumber when he reflected on what he had just accomplished.
“I didn’t think it was too bad,” he said of the biology exam.
He has been studying every night during the HSC period, choosing to focus on the topic of disease.
For Micah, last week was jam packed, so he is taking this week’s more flexible schedule in his stride.
“In the first week I had exams one after the other, but I have a few days between them so it’s easier now,” he said.
However, fellow Year 12 student Sarah Moody is experiencing the exact opposite.
“I have four exams this week, so I’m studying every night,” she said.
But despite her very full timetable, Sarah isn’t letting the pressure of doing well get to her. She knows there is more than one way to achieve her goals and is happy to let the chips fall where they may.
“I want to get the mark to get into uni, but I won’t be too stressed if I don’t,” Sarah said.
“There are other ways.”
