Bathurst Panorama Chorus will host the gala dinner and fundraiser, offering a special performance and special guest to boot.
President Debbie McKean said The Block host and 2014 Gold Logie winner Scott Cam will be the feature at this local night of nights.
“There will be a performance from the Chorus and Scott Cam is going to do a talk,” she said.
“Following his chat he will be hosting the [fundraising] auction.”
The television personality is Chorus musical director Tracey Cam’s brother-in-law.
On the night, once his official duties are taken care of, he will mingle with the crowd.
Funds raised will put the Chorus one step closer to taking the title of best small chorus in the world.
“It’s all to help us raise funds to get to Las Vegas in October,” Ms McKean said.
The Harmony Classic competition in Las Vegas has been described as a “singing Olympics” for choruses that are part of the worldwide Sweet Adelines International orga-nisation.
Bathurst Panorama Chorus has been afforded the opportunity to perform a 15-minute package at the competition after winning the Australian regional competition in 2014 and being found to have the highest score out of 191 choruses worldwide.
For approximately 35 members to go to the competition, they will need to raise in excess of $130,000.
Tickets to the dinner, which will be held on Saturday, March 21, are $150 each or $135 per person for a table of 10 (which includes champagne and canapes on arrival and a three-course dinner catered by Rydges Mount Panorama).
There will also be a cash bar available and a fundraising auction with four major prizes, including an exclusive tour of 2015 The Block for two and a trip for two to Uluru.
