The wineries, my girl has a great time when we go to Margaret River. And the food, we’ve had great food there – the venison, we went to that venison farm, wow – I really like it there.
Stephanie Gilmore (AUS)
spoke to the Sunday Times in December
I love Margaret River because it’s like going on a true Australian adventure. I love the stunning cliffs, beaches, the vineyards and the beautiful local artisans who make everything from fresh breads to lavender body products. The wineries exceeded all my expectations, especially the lesser-known smaller spots that make you feel like you’re walking into a scene from a children’s storybook.
Mick Fanning (AUS)
Obviously the wineries, the waves, but the one thing I really like is how quiet it is. I really like quiet places.
Joel Parkinson (AUS)
The adventure of it, driving to the waves and visiting all the places, I like the elements you know, getting hit by a cold front. And the wineries, beer, and food – it’s just a great place.
Laura Enever (AUS)
I love the Margaret River landscape, the beautiful beaches – it’s amazing there and so different to the East Coast. I like just to take it all in.
Freddy Patacchia Jnr (Hawaii)
I love the early mornings in Margaret River – going to any café and have breakfast and coffee.
I like to go for a morning surf before the sun even comes up, getting a little bit scared thinking there’s some big fish out there, and then coming in from great little surf and warming up with a good coffee, scrambled eggs and bacon, yep, that’s my favourite part about Margaret River.
Kolohe Adino (USA)
The things I like about Margaret River besides the waves are the dirt roads to the waves – feels like an Indiana Jones style adventure.
Matt Wilkinson (AUS)
It’s sick over there! I love the chocolate factory, it’s pretty deadly, and surrounded by wineries and breweries, you can’t go wrong. It’s a great place.
