In short, they take great delight in giving back to the people who support them, and rightly so.
It has been well documented how Peter Sargent and the team at the Bathurst RSL are in the throws of completing major refurbishments at its Rankin Street premises, with about $1.3 million being pumped into that complex.
That project resulted in work being carried out in the RSL club’s lounge bar, auditorium and function room, courtyard and outdoor area.
This facelift certainly has the club looking a veritable picture and is achieving the desired result of giving the premises a brighter and more vibrant appearance, as some sections of the club were starting to look a little tired and dated.
The good news for club-goers across the Bathurst region is the fact that Bathurst Panthers are about to follow in the footsteps of the RSL with huge plans for its premises.
Today’s Western Advocate reports Panthers is set to undertake its biggest overhaul in more than two decades with a $5.4 million refurbishment, which is already underway.
According to Panthers management, the project will be conducted in three stages and will see much of the club transformed during the next five years.
In the end, patrons of both Bathurst clubs will be the big winners because they deserve to be looked after.
The local economy will also benefit by the investment of such vast sums of money into these two facilities and it is a clear indication that Bathurst’s future has never been brighter.
