Boxed is one of the Oberon artist’s favourite pieces.
“It is a large horse in a box and the idea is that is looks over society and is about how people put people on a pedestal,” Ms Fasher explained.
The piece weighs in at 270 kilograms and is made entirely of steel, which is supplied to the artist by Allan and Amanda Wilding from Metaland, who also provide practical help with projects.
“Al assists me in problem solving, working out the steel specifications, and transport dilemmas; [recently] we had a truck mishap and Al had me a hire truck within five minutes flat. They are a ‘can do’ team,” Ms Fasher said.
Studio assistant Nicole O’Regan also helped Ms Fasher assemble the sculpture and install it for the event.
This year isn’t the first time Ms Fasher has been part of Sculpture By The Sea.
Last year she entered a double-headed rocking horse, which was eventually purchased by a collector in the United Kingdom.
Ms Fasher said she is excited about being included in Sculpture By The Sea among other impressive pieces and showing off her sculpture to a new audience.
“It brings sculpture to the people,” she said of the event.
“The landscape is beautiful, it is right in the heart of the city and it brings the possibility of sculpture to an audience.”
Sculpture By The Sea will be at Bondi Beach until November 8.
