Bathurst RSL general manager Peter Sargent said the takeaway coffee outlet would officially open on Saturday.
“There will be giveaways and from 9am to midday people can get a coffee with a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to Legacy,” he said.
“It will be a fun morning.”
Mr Sargent said The Grind is basically a hole-in-the-wall takeaway serving coffee and pre-packed cold drinks.
He said the decision to open the takeaway aimed to make the RSL less reliant on revenue from gaming and help it continue to develop revenue from food and catering.
“Everyone has noticed a demand for hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, they are popping up everywhere,” he said.
“There is a massive growth in the market and we believe there is room for another player.”
Mr Sargent said people were discerning about their coffee and the RSL had recruited expert barista Glenn Murray to manage the takeaway.
Mr Sargent said Mr Murray had worked as a barista in Bathurst for years.
“We saw an opportunity to employ Glenn about six months ago. We had a plan in mind and hired him specifically for this purpose,” he said.
“He brings a great level of skill into the business.”
Mr Sargent said The Grind would also be the exclusive outlet in Bathurst for Giancarlo coffee, something he said he was excited about.
“People become very particular about coffee, and we are excited because this is something no-one else has,” he said.
Mr Sargent said The Grind will open seven days a week from 5.45am until 2.30pm, and will extend its hours as demand requires.
