Earlier this year Wanderers managed a 2-all draw with the Saints in what was their best performance against the blue and whites since entering the competition.
On Saturday at Bob Roach Field the Wanderers again applied plenty of pressure, but this time the Saints responded better.
Naylor scored three minutes before half-time to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. He added another after the break, while fellow Saint Muldoon twice found the mark off penalty corner plays.
“They brought over a full strength side, they certainly came to play and in that first 20 minutes they really pushed us,” Saints co-captain Shane Conroy said.
“It was really quick and end-to-end to start off with, so it was really nice to get that goal just before half-time. It was a good goal too, Brent showed composure and a nice finish.
“We were never confident at 1-0 and they came out in the first five minutes of the second half and really put some pressure on.
“But we got a penalty corner – finally – and Tobbie put it in the left bottom corner. After that we got a couple more because they were pushing guys forwards.”
