Quite a lot actually.
Parade read on Friday that a meat and potato pie attached to a weather balloon was launched into space from Wigan, England.
As crazy as it sounds – and it does sound really crazy – it is for science.
The aim is to see whether sitting on the edge of Earth’s atmosphere, around 30 kilometres up, will change the molecular structure of the pie in a way that might make it easier to eat.
Funny, Parade didn’t think the process was all that complicated to begin with.
She is curious to see what this mission reveals.
Don’t miss the Farmers Markets
THE Bathurst Farmers Markets will be held for the last time this year on Saturday.
Parade has heard there will be more than 60 stalls at the markets this time around, providing a perfect opportunity to knock over some Christmas shopping.
Whether it is finding the perfect gift for that hard to buy for person, or grabbing some seasonal regional produce for Christmas lunch, patrons won’t be short of options.
The Farmers Markets are held at Bathurst Showground from 8am to 12pm.
Dreaming of a quiet Christmas
WHILE on the subject of Christmas, Parade has decided she will take the time to detox this festive season.
Not from food of course – who does that at Christmas? – but from being social.
Parade finds that the lead up to the holiday is always busy, from working right up to the day to dodging people at the stores while she scrambles for last-minute gifts.
Then Christmas Day arrives and it is more running around to visit family members and cook copious amounts of food.
After a busy lead up to it and the stress of the day itself, Parade often collapses into a chair at the end of the day feeling entirely overwhelmed.
Not this year, though.
This time Parade is buying as few presents as possible, cooking the most basic of meals and staying home with her significant other.
